  • Does the X4-FCS™ come with a laser rangefinder?
    No, the X4-LRF™ is sold separately.
  • Does the X4-FCS™ come with a scope?
    No, the X4-FCS™ does not include a scope. The X4-FCS™ is designed to work with a user-supplied 30 mm LPVO.
  • What is an LPVO?
    A LPVO is a Low-Power Variable Optic scope. It usually comes in 30 mm or 34 mm configurations.
  • What LPVOs are compatible with the X4-FCS™?
    The X4-FCS™ is designed to be compatible with most 30 mm LPVOs. The 34 mm variant is in development with a release date to be announced.
  • Does the X4-FCS™ affect my LPVO's performance?
    The X4-FCS™ provides enhanced capabilities without reducing your LPVO's performance.
  • Is the X4-FCS compatible with first and second focal plane sights?
    Yes. The X4-FCS is compatible with both first focal plane sights and second focal plane sights.
  • Where can I order the X4-FCS™?
    The X4-FCS™ will be available at magpul.com once it has been released.
  • Will the X4-FCS™ be compatible with Magpul's Rounds Remaining technology?

    Yes, the X4-FCS™ must be sold to US Persons within the USA.
  • How long do the X4-FCS™ batteries last?
    1 year at 10 hours per week for typical usage. The X4-FCS™ uses motion activated wake technology allowing the system to sleep when not in use and to instantly turn on when you need it, greatly extending the battery life.
  • Does the X4-FCS™ come with batteries?
    The X4-FCS™ comes with two rechargeable, protected cell 18650s with integrated charger and cable.
  • What happens if my X4-FCS™ runs out of power?
    You will still be able to use your LPVO, even if the X4-FCS™ batteries are depleted.
  • What color display symbology is available?
    Display symbology (reticle and text) is green.
  • Can I see the display symbology in bright daylight conditions?
    Yes. The X4-FCS™ has been specifically designed to provide ultra-high brightness symbology and text that can be viewed in full sunlight.
  • Can the symbology positions and sizes be changed?
    The symbology positions and sizes are customizable by the user.
  • What body color options are available for the X4-FCS™?
    The X4-FCS™ comes in Black. Coming soon: Flat Dark Earth (FDE), or Olive Drab (OD) Green options. Note: The body is Type III Hard Anodize Finished - individual color shades may vary.
  • Can the X4-FCS™ be spray painted OR have a bake-on coating (e.g. Cerakote) applied to it?
    Bake-on coating, including low-temperature Cerakote, CANNOT be used on the X4-FCS™. Spray-paint can be utilized as long as proper instructions are followed to avoid damage (see X4-FCS user manual).
  • How much does the X4-FCS™ weigh?
    The X4-FCS™ weighs 22.6 oz (642g) with 18650 batteries (without LPVO).
  • What is the X4-FCS™ optic height off rail?
    1.93 inches (49mm) for a standard 1913 Picatinny Rail.
  • What is the X4-FCS™ body made from?
    Billet 7075-T6 Aluminum.
  • Does the X4-FCS™ have a Near-Field Communication (NFC) system?
    The X4-FCS™ has an NFC system to allow for easy one-touch pairing of X4 Accessories. Simply hold an X4 wireless accessory (coming soon) next to the X4-FCS™ NFC touchpoint and it will instantly pair to your X4-FCS™ secure network. The NFC is OFF by default.
  • Does the X4-FCS™ have an Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) radio?
    The X4-FCS™ has a UWB radio which allows it to host a personal-area, secured, encrypted network for X4 wireless accessory communication (coming soon). The radio is OFF by default.
  • Do I need a phone or computer to use the X4-FCS™?
    No. The X4-FCS™ has been designed to run standalone without ever needing to connect to another device or the internet. However some of the more advanced configuration options are only accessible via a phone.
  • I don't want the X4-FCS™ to transmit anything. Can I disable the network systems?
    Yes. The UWB, Bluetooth®, and NFC systems can be completely disabled.
  • What is a laser rangefinder?
    A laser rangefinder is an electronic device that uses a laser beam to determine the distance to an object.
  • What is the X4-LRF™?
    The X4-LRF™ is an eye-safe multi-kilometer single-pulse laser rangefinder designed to mount to a Picatinny rail.
  • What is the difference between the X4-LRF-2K and X4-LRF-15K?
    The 2K utilizes a 905nm commercial-grade laser. The 15K utilizes a 1534nm military-grade laser and is not detectable by night-vision devices.

  • What is a 1534 laser and how does it differ from a 905 laser found in most commercial range finders?
    A 1534nm laser is eye safe at higher power levels than a 905nm laser, increasing its effective range for longer-distance targets. Additionally, the 1534nm laser offers the advantage of being undetectable by traditional night vision devices, enhancing its covert capabilities and is a preferred laser rangefinder wavelength for military systems.
  • What body color options will be available for the X4-LRF™?
    The X4-FCS™ comes in Flat Dark Earth (FDE). Coming soon: Black or Olive Drab (OD) Green options. Note: The body is Type III Hard Anodize Finished - individual color shades may vary.

  • Can I utilize the X4-LRF™ ballistic solver if I don't have an X4-FCS™?
    Yes
  • Does the X4-FCS™ ballistic reticle remain accurate at any LPVO zoom level?
    Yes. The X4-FCS™ symbology operates equivalent to a first focal plane sight. The symbols zoom with the LPVO zoom.
  • What is the per click adjustment of the X4-FCS™?
    0.5 MOA.
  • What is the maximum ballistic drop the X4-FCS™ can display?
    115 MOA (33 MIL)
  • How many ballistic profiles can be stored?
    The X4-FCS™ and X4-LRF™ each allow for 30 ballistic profiles to be stored.
  • Are the X4-FCS™ and X4-LRF™ rated for high shock weapons like the SCAR17?
    Yes.
  • Are the X4-FCS™ and X4-LRF™ waterproof?
    The X4-FCS™ and X4-LRF™ are designed for submersion in 3 feet of water for 30 minutes.
  • What temperature ranges can the X4-FCS™ and X4-LRF™ handle?
    The operating range is -40°F to +140°F (-40°C to +60°C), subject to appropriate temperature-rated batteries.
  • Does the X4-FCS™ come with a remote keypad?
    No, a rail-mounted wired keypad is sold separately. The X4-LRF™ wired keypad is also compatible with the X4-FCS™.
  • Does the X4-LRF™ come with a remote keypad?
    Yes, a wired keypad is included with the X4-LRF™. It is intended to be mounted via hook-and-loop (included). The X4-FCS™ rail-mounted keypad is also compatible with the X4-LRF™.
  • Is a wireless keypad available for either the X4-FCS™ or X4-LRF™?
    Not at the current time (ultra-wideband wireless keypad coming soon).
  • What rangefinders are compatible with the X4-FCS™?
    The X4-FCS™ is designed to specifically interface with Maztech's X4-LRF™. Range data may also be input manually.
